Designed and developed a program to extract customer information from a database system installed in each of their sun tan centers.  This information was then compiled and filtered for use in mass-mailings and to obtain advertising objectives.  Updated the program to VFP6.0 and then to MS Access, adding reports that identified invalid addresses for re-entry at each of the stores.  I also ordered and installed a new workstations and printers for the main office, setup web access and e-mail accounts, installed and trained on QuickBooks, created a backup schedule and conducted preliminary training.  Completed the roll-out of new computers in all stores, upgraded OS to Windows XP SP2, patched all software and assisted in the decision to choose another software vendor for their store operations and migrate the existing data as required.

Bed of Roses is a Bed & Breakfast Registry that provides corporate and international travelers with an alternative to hotel accommodations while in New York.  During my initial engagement, I designed, developed and implemented a database system in MS Works for Windows to handle all the information management tasks related to booking reservations, confirmation management, building/apartment access authorizations, and housekeeping schedules.  I also assisted in the preparation of taxes, creation of a number of reservation  reports, and the management of Owner and Client files.  Delivered VFP6.0 application (which I subsequently migrated to MS Access) to view reservations in a calendar format and generate various Service Reports, developed supporting functionality as needed, as well as began work on website designed to provide a basic web presence.

Conducted audit of existing Microsoft FoxPro 2.6 database program, ensuring full Y2K compliance.  Made minor modifications to existing data structures, documented critical procedures, and

performed end-user training.  Migrated existing data to Visual FoxPro 6.0, including normalizing existing flat-file data structures, creating new forms and reports, with eventual access via the web.  Set baseline standards for workstation management, including system file backup, anti-virus protection, and Y2K compliance.  Ongoing work included developing the business process model, researching issues as they arose (e.g. data-security on the web, server backup plans, etc.), providing assistance with weekly publishing of the existing database to the web, and interfacing with IT vendors.
